Celebrity Ink Goes Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October 15, :23 am in Partner Content by Celebrity Ink TattooCelebrity Ink™ is taking fundraising to a new level, while helping women reclaim their identity following a cancer diagnosis with a permanent tattoo.

The tattoo chain is offering people suffering from cancer, those who’ve lost loved ones to cancer and anyone who wishes to support National Breast Cancer Awareness Month the opportunity to donate to the worthy cause while getting a new design inked.

All artists in the Celebrity Ink™ Surfers Paradise, Coomera, Southport and Garden City studios are pricing flash tattoos from $80. 100 percent of the profits will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Celebrity Ink™ CEO, Manuel Campos, said the Celebrity Ink™ Goes Pink campaign is bigger than its financial donation, although this is paramount too.

“Tattoos go hand in hand with identity, self esteem and storytelling. Celebrating individuality and promoting self confidence is a core part of what we offer our clients, and this is especially important for those undergoing treatment for cancer,” he said.

“Many of our clients are affected by cancer in some way, either directly or through watching a loved one, and they come to us wanting to commemorate or celebrate this journey with a permanent reminder – whether that be love, loss, hope or healing.

“Mastectomy tattoos are extremely common at our studios, helping women to see the beauty in their body, as are pink ribbons and butterflies as a token for hope and peace.”

The National Breast Cancer Foundation’s Director of Research Investment, Dr Christopher Pettigrew, said the partnership with Celebrity Ink™ was fitting for the foundation.

“We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with Celebrity Ink™ to make a difference in the lives of those living with breast cancer.

“The breast cancer journey is a very individual and personal experience, just like every tattoo is unique and has its own story,’ he said.

“Tattoos play a very special role in helping many of those diagnosed with cancer to find hope, resilience, courage, peace and strength, so it’s a fitting partnership.”

Mr Campos said while this was the inaugural fundraising event for Breast Cancer Awareness Month by Celebrity Ink™, it is the first of many to come.

“Storytelling is what we do, and it’s our privilege to be able to help men and women express their stories this month while giving back and donating 100% percent of all flash tattoo profits to such a deserving cause. We are committed to supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month and playing our part in the fight for a cure,” he said.

With nine women in every 100 diagnosed with breast cancer not surviving past five years, every dollar to the National Breast Cancer Foundation will help fund prevention, detection, and treatment research to save lives.

Celebrity Ink™ Surfers Paradise, Coomera, Southport and Garden City studios are participating in the Celebrity Ink™ Goes Pink fundraising campaign. Anyone over the age of 18 can get a flash tattoo, and all studios will accept donations with any other service booked.
