Trust Wallet Announces Launch Of Browser Extension

Popular mobile crypto wallet provider, Trust Wallet has continued in its leading strides with the launch of a browser extension that supports a variety of tokens.

According to the release by the wallet provider, the extension which offers support for browsers like Google Chrome, Opera, Brave, and Edge will scale accessibility to cryptocurrency.

The self-custodial wallet, with over 60 million downloads globally and 10 million active users per month, already leads the mobile crypto wallet market. With its newly launched browser extension, the mobile wallet can now offer a seamless experience for desktop and mobile environments.

According to Trust Wallet’s CEO Eowyn Chen, the launch of the browser extension is a response to users’ demand for a browser extension with a similar experience as the Trust Wallet mobile app. Hence, users will now be allowed to manage, store, send and receive more than 8 million tokens across all EVM chains like Ethereum (ETH), Avalanche, Polygon, and Solana.

Furthermore, Chen added that this was the first step towards granting users access to exciting dApps via any device of their choice.

Interestingly, this browser extension will have features like Non-fungible Tokens (NFTs) support, multi-wallet support, and fiat on-ramp providers which already exist on the mobile app. It also has plans to introduce non-EVM blockchain integrations and hardware wallet support soon.

Subsequently, the new extension adds to the seamless experience that the platform has been known to provide. Users can effectively discover new things like Web3.0 gaming, Decentralized Finance (DeFi), and many more aside from Centralized Exchange (CEXs).

Crypto Firms Integrate Wallet Services
The continuous launch of self-custodial wallets has helped retailers’ steady movement with their target audience.

In September, a renowned global nonprofit organization Linux Foundation announced the launch of its OpenWallet Foundation (OWF).

With the new launch, Linux focuses on developing an open-source software engine that other businesses, developers, and organizations will use to build their own multi-use digital wallets instead of designing a digital wallet from scratch.

Similarly, to further its push into the digital currency ecosystem, the video game, and electronics retailer, GameStop announced the launch of its new crypto wallet as a web browser extension.
