Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warns Hamas and Islamic Jihad, that they pay a “heavy price” for firing rockets from Gaza into Israel. But this time, the conflict is also spilling over into so-called “mixed” towns and cities within Israel, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calling for an end to the “savagery” of violent clashes between Jewish and Arab neighbours. We discuss this latest troubling aspect to the conflict with Alain Dieckhoff, a research professor at Sciences Po University specialising in Israeli politics and society.

Hamas has controlled the Gaza Strip since 2007, repeatedly attacking Israel. It has a number of foreign allies. But where does the terror group get the money and supplies to do it?

Jeremy Issacharoff, Israel’s ambassador to Germany, told DW that Hamas initiated the current deadly exchange between Israel and Gaza, and called on the organization to stop firing rockets.

Hamas said it expects a truce within days. German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas is also set to fly to Israel and Palestinian territories for talks over halting hostilities.

In Gaza, a week since the ceasefire between Hamas and Israel was announced, many residents come out to enjoy the beaches. The truce ended 11 days of devastating Israeli bombardment of Gaza, killing 248 Palestianians, and rockets and other fire into Israel from the coastal strip that killed 12.

Youths from Urhobo ethnic group have commended the state executive council Dissolution and warn those misinterpreting the action.
