Why Domestic Violence Organisations Support Amber Heard

It’s hard to find support for Amber Heard among all the anti-Amber videos and articles. However, qualified experts in the field of Domestic Violence have come forward with their disdain for the Trial Verdict.

Owens founded a hospital DV crisis response team, a transitional shelter, advocacy groups and training programs. She has written in detail about the Depp v Heard case. “JOHNNY DEPP vs. AMBER HEARD: WHO’S THE VICTIM?” Owens ultimately comes to the conclusion that Depp shows all of the signs of an ab*ser.

Jennifer Freyd
Jennifer Freyd, PhD is a professor of psychology at University of Oregan. Freyd established the term DARVO. This is now widely used in to describe the way in which abusers will reverse the role of their victim.

“Darvo refers to a reaction [that alleged] perpetrators of wrongdoing, particularly sexual offenders, may display in response to being held accountable for their behaviour,” she said.

“This occurs, for instance, when an actually guilty perpetrator assumes the role of ‘falsely accused’ and attacks the accuser’s credibility and blames the accuser of being the perpetrator of a false accusation.

“What we have witnessed in the US over this case has been an overwhelming case for Depp on social media. It is like an anti-Heard campaign and there has been a lot of Darvo.”

Lundy Bancroft
Lundy Bancroft, author of the book “Why Does He Do That?” spoke out on the podcast “The Divorce Survival Guide” in Heard’s favour. He discussed the way Ambers evidence “is pretty persuasive if you look at it all carefully and objectively”. He also noted the way ab*sers are very good at muddying the waters to distract from the evidence. i.e. personality disorder diagnoses being a “classic” tactic to discredit accusers. Bancroft also noted that “victims of ab*se tend not to act very well sometimes because they’re out of their goddamn minds. She’s gonna be pushing back in some way,” and
that does not equate the victim to the ab*ser.

These are just a few of the experienced voices asking us to look harder at the evidence. To ignore the irrelevant distractions from the real issues. Domestic Violence Organisations, psychologists and survivors are trying to educate people on the subtleties around ab*se. It’s time to start reading these articles and recognising the patterns of ab*se and those who lie about it.
